Some of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring things in life start with “F” in both Spanish and English: familia (family), flores (flowers), frutas (fruit), and even fuego (fire). This free Spanish Letter F worksheet is designed to help learners practice this important letter, la letra efe o consonante efe, while learning fun and illustrated Spanish “F” vocabulary.
“F” in the Spanish alphabet (alfabeto or abecedario) is called «la efe». However, unlike in English where sounds are highly variable, in Spanish, «la efe» is almost exclusively pronounced with one sound. Exceptions to the single Spanish “f” sound most often exist in regional and dialectal differences.
However, since phonetic alphabets vary wildly or are difficult to understand, the easiest way to learn to pronounce «la efe» is to hear it over and over and to practice. Try one of these two videos to hear and practice the sound.
